Finding my way….
I love this picture. It represents so much. A destination just around the corner. A wonderful journey with a family member who shares similar interests, and the warmth of a revisited memory.
Over the years, I've experienced many remarkable adventures with my dogs in search and rescue. I am nervous about this new journey. I am hoping to connect with people that love crochet and knitting. People that simply love the journey of learning a new skill.
As I walked into the house this afternoon to let the dogs out, I was greeted by the sight of a Cheetos wrapper strewn across the floor—a casualty of Loki's newfound talent for counter surfing. Loki, my retired search dog, has developed a few naughty habits since retiring, reminding me of the ongoing nature of growth and training. Reflecting on our journey together, I realize there were steps I did not spend enough time on in his training regimen.
So, at the age of 10, Loki finds himself back in training, revisiting the basics of good behavior. With the help of Sit means Sit I am navigating this process, I aim to extend myself some grace, recognizing that learning curves are natural. Undoubtedly, as I continue to develop this website and spread the word, challenges will arise. Building a website has proven to be a frustrating and, at times, unenjoyable endeavor—even with the assistance of my nephews. Much like training a potential SAR dog, the technical aspects can pale in comparison to the excitement of honing their skills for target detection.
While learning crochet may seem more enjoyable than mastering technical skills, it's essential for fostering connections with other artists and those who wish to spread kindness. Balancing work with pleasure is an inherent part of any worthwhile endeavor.
To sum this little tale up; there are days I amaze myself then there are days I am looking for my phone while talking on it. My life. Hope yours is going well. Remember to share a little kindness.
